From June 13th to 16th, 2019, the Ganesh Himal Community Foundation (GHCF) organized a comprehensive homestay training program for 42 residents of Khaiyabs, Dhading. This initiative is part of GHCF’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable tourism and community development in the region.
The training program aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage and operate homestays, providing them with an additional source of income and a way to contribute to their community’s growth. The program covered various aspects of homestay management, including hospitality, hygiene, safety, and cultural exchange.
“Through this training, we hope to empower local residents and provide them with the tools to contribute to and benefit from the homestay initiative,” said a representative from GHCF. “This is a step towards sustainable development and community empowerment.”
The homestay initiative, which invites visitors from around the world to experience local Nepalese culture, also serves as a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding. All profits from the homestay tours are directed towards the community foundation in Dhading, further supporting local development.
