Welcome to the Ganesh Himal Community Foundation
On 26 August 2026 (Bhadra 10, 2083 BS), a devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa caused significant loss of life and property across various areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun, Chitwan, and Nawalparasi.
The flood spread through the Bhotekoshi, Trishuli, and Narayani river systems, causing serious damage to homes, markets, roads, schools, hospitals, bridges, hydropower projects, and other essential infrastructure.
The disaster also severely affected Devighat Bazaar in Nuwakot and settlements along the Trishuli River, impacting approximately 300–600 houses. Damage to bridges and road infrastructure disrupted transportation and the daily movement of local residents. Many families lost or suffered damage to their homes, shops, household belongings, and other essential property, making their everyday lives extremely difficult.
In this difficult situation, the team from Ganesh Himal Community Foundation (GHCF) reached the affected area and coordinated with local government representatives and concerned government officials. Through discussions, field observations, and an assessment of the local situation, the team identified the immediate needs of the affected families.
It became clear that many families urgently needed basic household items to help them resume their daily lives after the flood.
Based on the needs identified in the community and recommendations from local representatives, GHCF provided essential household and daily-use materials to affected families.

These basic supplies were provided to help families whose homes and belongings had been damaged or destroyed by the disaster.
At a time when many families are struggling to rebuild their homes and restore their normal lives, we hope this support will provide some immediate relief and help them meet their basic daily needs.
Special attention was given to coordination with local ward representatives and concerned government officials so that the relief materials could reach families who were genuinely in need.

This commitment has continued through different difficult situations in Nepal. Following the 2015 earthquake, for example, support was provided through school building projects, food assistance, livelihood materials, and other community-support initiatives.
Whenever communities across Nepal face difficult circumstances and require support, GHCF remains ready to contribute according to the needs of the community and the resources available.
